Since opening in 1935 as Osaka’s State Guest House, RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka has welcomed distinguished guests from Japan and around the world for over 90 years.
From visits by Their Majesties Emperor Shōwa and Empress Kōjun to hosting heads of state and members of royal families, the hotel has long been a setting for occasions of national and international significance.
In 1995, it also served as the venue for the Leaders’ Dinner hosted by Prime Minister Tomiichi Murayama during the APEC Osaka Meeting.

The hotel served as the operator of the State Guest House at both Expo ’70 Osaka and Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. In 2025, it further fulfilled an important role by welcoming Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress as guests during their attendance at the opening ceremony of the Expo.
